For decades one thing was certain in Sydney, one source of wisdom and enlightenment was always available. Dr. Vern Pullen's columns in free music papers such as On The Street and the Drum Media. Dr. Pullen dispensed pithy weekly dollops of higher truth and dead serious hilarity from his office in the ivory towers of the Jim Jones Mail-order University. In between researching new methods for driving the bogong moth extinct and creating novel musical fads, Dr. Vern always found time to power up the old Vic 20 and bash out a column.
That is, until he was unceremoniously axed in 2007. Despite a desperate letter writing campaign by his loyal readers, the editors ignored the public outcry and devoted his half-page allotment to more lucrative ends, mainly advertising yet another short-lived nightclub of the kind the Doctor justly lambasted in his screeds.
Fear not, though. Wisdom is eternal, and the Mu Meson archives are proud to archive a selection of the writings of Dr. Pullen in a publicly accessible site for the edification of the masses.
